Privacy & GDPR candidate data policy.

Recruitment runs on trust. This page explains, in plain English, what we hold, why we hold it, and the control you keep over it.

What we collect

When you send us a CV, apply for a role or submit a vacancy, we collect what you give us: your name, contact details, CV content, role preferences, salary or rate expectations, notice period, and any notes from our conversations with you. We do not buy candidate data, and we do not scrape it.

Why we hold it, and on what basis

We hold candidate data to represent you for current and future roles — the legitimate business of a recruitment agency, processed with your consent, which we ask for explicitly before storing your CV. Client contact data is held under legitimate interest to deliver the recruitment services you've engaged us for. We never sell personal data, and your CV is never sent to any employer without your explicit go-ahead for that specific role.

How long we keep it

Candidate records are reviewed at least every 24 months. If we haven't been in contact and there's no live engagement, records are deleted. You can shortcut this at any time — one email and your data is removed.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us, at any time, to:

  • show you the data we hold about you (subject access)
  • correct or update it
  • delete it entirely (right to erasure)
  • stop job alerts or marketing while keeping your record (consent for alerts is separate and optional)

Requests go to enquiries@sdl-solutions.co.uk and are actioned within 30 days, usually much faster. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Security

Candidate data is held on access-controlled systems, is not shared with third parties except as required to deliver the service you've asked for, and website form submissions are encrypted in transit.
